In accordance with the overall deployment of Chifeng City's new district construction, the planning and design of the Chifeng International Convention and Exhibition Center project began in October 2005. Construction commenced on April 15, 2006, and the exhibition hall entered its operational phase on July 31, 2008. It consists of three parts: a conference center, an exhibition center, and a professional theater. The center covers a total area of 78.6 mu, with a total building area of 37,500 square meters. Among them, the exhibition center covers an area of 18,000 square meters, can accommodate 700 international standard booths, and is capable of hosting large and medium-sized professional exhibitions. The conference center covers 19,000 square meters and features more than 20 meeting rooms of various styles that can accommodate 10 to 1,200 people, fulfilling diverse conference functions such as VIP receptions, academic reports, press conferences, government seminars, and simultaneous interpretation. The multi-functional grand theater, equipped with professional stage facilities including an internationally advanced digital lighting system, a German HK audio system, high-definition LED displays, and a retractable stage, is currently one of the most professional performing arts venues in the eastern Inner Mongolia region and the only large-scale multi-functional hall in Chifeng City. The outdoor square covers 28,000 square meters and is equipped with a musical fountain, a parking lot, green landscape belts, and other supporting facilities, making it suitable for hosting large-scale outdoor exhibition events.
The Chifeng International Convention and Exhibition Center is the only professional exhibition center in Chifeng City.
Since its opening, the Chifeng International Convention and Exhibition Center has drawn upon the business philosophies of developed exhibition cities and adopted a professional, international management model. Adhering to the principle of government guidance and market-oriented operation, it has cultivated the exhibition market and integrated exhibition resources through various forms such as self-hosting, co-hosting, and partnerships. Years of dedicated cultivation have brought Chifeng's exhibition industry into a virtuous cycle of development, creating a solid foundation for the industry's growth. From its opening until the end of 2015, it has hosted a total of 107 large-scale professional exhibitions, including the Agricultural Expo, Auto Show, Beer Festival, Food Festival, Financial Expo, Book Fair, Real Estate Fair, Cultural Expo, Wedding Expo, Talent Exchange Fair, and Animation Exhibition (among which the Agricultural Expo has become a national-level exhibition, while the Auto Show, Food Festival, Cultural Expo, and Talent Exchange Fair have become the most influential brand exhibitions in eastern Inner Mongolia). It has cumulatively attracted over 21,000 exhibitors and 6.7 million visitors, achieving an exhibition transaction volume of 7.2 billion RMB and contributing nearly 700 million RMB to local fiscal tax revenue. This effectively demonstrates the driving and diffusing effects of the exhibition economy on related industries in the Chifeng region, highlighting the industrial characteristic of the exhibition sector: having modest direct economic benefits but generating significant social benefits!
